The good bacteria that live in your gut are a blessing for your health. The undigested food that stays in your gut for long periods of time, on the other hand, can lead to inflammation such as arthritis. Here at Soft Touch Chiropractic in Porter Ranch, CA, Dr. Masoud Shamaeizadeh, DC advises his patients to take probiotics to prevent arthritis.
Scientists have known for some time that good bacteria in the gut helps us digest our food. Now, a new study suggest that good bacteria, also known as probiotics, helps prevent rheumatoid arthritis. The study also shows a correlation between the amount of bad bacteria in a gut and the existence of arthritis in a person. The way to introduce probiotics into the gut are as follows: 1. The most effective way is to consume fermented foods such as sauerkraut, kimchi and others. 2. Fermented drinks such as kombucha also introduce probiotics to the gut. 3. Probiotic pills are also a great way to increase the good bacteria that digests food properly and prevents inflammation. If you already have arthritis, it is not too late to start taking probiotics. In order to create an environment where probiotics will stay alive: 1. Eat a primarily plant-based diet. Raw veggies are the best because they provide the fiber that probiotics need to thrive. 2. Stay away from antibiotics as much as possible. Antibiotic medication not only kills bad bacteria, it also kills the good bacteria. Watch the video below to learn more. Have You Been in a T-Bone Car Accident?
What To Do About It Whiplash is the first thing that comes to mind when people talk about car accidents. Whiplash is when the head is violently thrust forward and snaps back during a car accident. Event though damage can be serious, our bodies do have a mechanism to protect itself in case of whiplash; certain joints in the neck are positioned in a way that they act like breaks and stop the neck from going back any further. However, during a side-impact accident (aka t-bone accident) our bodies have very limited protection; this is why t-bone accidents register a higher number of fatalities. Usually the vertebra in a joint will mis-align to one side during side impact and that misalignment interferes with blood flow and nerve function. The problem in any car accident is that the large muscles in the neck spasm and stress and that prevents a clear detection of a misalignment. Sometimes the misalignment goes undetected and neglected for years which brings about other health issues. A professional doctor of chiropractic can detect this misalignment even years after it has happened. In my practice, Soft Touch Chiropractic in Porter Ranch, CA, I have seen patients whose misaligned neck joints were not detected immediately after a car accident. If you have been in a auto accident and you have been simply prescribed pain medication, we strongly urge you to see your chiropractor and get examined.
